Privacy Policy

The Planning Lab ("we", "us") provides financial planning calculators for advisors and their clients. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the app you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Account information. When you sign in, we receive your name and email address from your sign-in provider (for example, Google) so we can create and secure your account.

Planning inputs. The figures you enter into calculators (ages, incomes, balances, and similar) are processed to produce the results you see. Where these are stored for analytics, they are de-identified — linked to anonymous session and case identifiers, never to client names or contact details.

Usage analytics. We record de-identified events (such as which calculator was opened and whether a calculation completed) to improve the product. This data contains no direct client identifiers.

Support messages. If you contact support, we store the message and any contact details you choose to provide so we can respond.

How we use information

We use information to operate and secure the app, produce calculator results, respond to support requests, and improve our tools through aggregate, de-identified analysis. We do not sell your personal information.

Google user data

When you sign in with Google, we access only your basic profile (name and email) to authenticate you. We do not access your Google Drive, Gmail, contacts, or other Google services, and we do not use Google user data for advertising. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Data sharing

We share information only with service providers that help us operate the app (such as hosting and email delivery), and only as needed to provide the service. We may disclose information if required by law.

Data retention & your choices

Detailed analytics records are retained for a limited period and then purged, while aggregate statistics may be kept. You may request access to or deletion of your account information by contacting us through the Support page.
